This wetland area is almost dried out as the summertime drought draws to a close. When rule-driven ethics disappoint and feelings-driven relationships deceive, we are held secure by the truth of Christ’s love for us. Paul was in labor for the spiritual birth of those being called to Christ. As a new mom bonds to her newborn with hormonal oxytocin, Paul bonded to the new believers with agape love. Christ sent the Holy Spirit to empower Paul with unfailing love to reap a harvest from hardened soil. There are times when the rainbow inspires us to seek a pot of gold. The riches at the end of the rainbow are what hope is made of. God, who is rich in mercy, will not allow us to wallow in the storms of life when we look to Him in faith. Being seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus is truly an overwhelming inheritance! God’s gentle shepherding led me during the years of childbearing, upholding my strength. This past week, we were watching video footage from back in the 90’s when our children were babies. While we were shepherding the wee ones, the Lord was shepherding us. We saw images of faithful saints who are now in glory (U.Karl, A.Lee, Bapoo, my dad, etc). Their love for our family is still felt, decades later. The Greatness of God

Low or high we are all in need of a place of refuge. On our own, our significance is not weighty. God’s power is made known through the way He terrifies us. His knowledge, beauty and love are greater than anything we can attain or imagine. By the constraint of such power into human minds. we experience His provision. Our burdens, which may be toted around with us all day, at times seem manageable. What do we do when they become unmanageable? David, in the Psalm below, realized that the key to preventing bitterness and despair was to cast his load into the capable hands of God. When a person is suicidal, they are so overwhelmed by their burdens that there is only one light at the end of a telescoping tunnel. What their brain is not capable of seeing is the support and resources available around them at the moment of despair. God is able to sustain the universe in its delicate balance, He also has the ability to sustain our lives. Our job is to cast those things that weigh us down onto Him. There are a few things that make good movie themes: my latest fad is Jack Reacher. While on vacation, I’ve been reading a few of Lee Child’s novels and enjoying his ability to make clear sense out of nonsensical issues. There are times where we all need a no-nonsense, bigger than life hero like Reacher to help make the world seem right. In this passage, Solomon and his bride are speaking admiringly towards each other. The onlookers surmise that love is worth more than material possessions and life itself. Passionate love that burns bright can withstand the deluge of many waters. God proved His love for the people of Israel at Mt. Carmel. Elijah obeyed God and doused the altar and sacrifice with many waters. God showed up in a mighty way even in the face of his unfaithful people. He burned up the sacrifice on the altar calling it acceptable (see 1 Kings 18: 30-39). No matter how much we may feel that our lives will turn God away, He continually pursues us with goodness and lovingkindness encouraging us to receive the gift of His Son. – Teresa #John1:12 #Hemakestheworldrighteous #2Corinthians5:21
